Del Shores, who wrote the infamous gay cult classic “Sordid Lives” — first a play, then an independent film and then a TV show — let loose with some raw material in his one-man show “Sordid Confessions” tonight at Jungle.
Shores’ one-man show promises politically incorrect humor that touches on life in the entertainment industry as well as what he calls his “slutty” years. And, yes, it will be quite gay. (Although heterosexuals are definitely invited.)
Shores is married to actor/Billboard Top 20 recording artist Jason Dottley and is the father of two daughters.
He’s won numerous awards for his work, including the GLAAD Media Award, NAACP Award and the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award. He’s also written for TV shows including “Queer As Folk” and “Dharma and Greg” and “Ned and Stacey.”
His plays include “Daddy’s Dyin’ (Who’s Got The Will?)” which also became a film. His other plays include “Southern Baptist Sissies” and “The Trials and Tribulations of a Trailer Trash Housewife” which is currently being produced in Atlanta by Shores to be made into a movie.
