Atlanta Braves want you ‘Out in the Stands’ for Lost-N-Found benefit

The Atlanta Braves host their fourth annual “Out in the Stands” event Wednesday, Sept. 17 at Turner Field benefiting homeless LGBT youth organization Lost-N-Found Youth.

The popular LGBT night in the ballpark will start with a pre-game party in the ballpark’s club patio from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., where visitors will get the chance to meet former player and Major League Baseball Ambassador for Inclusion Billy Bean. Bean came out as gay after he retired and later wrote a book about his experiences, titled “Going the Other Way: Lessons from a Life In and Out of Major League Baseball.” First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m.

Each ticket includes a game ticket and benefits Lost-N-Found, who have received national attention recently for their involvement with Daniel Pierce, the teenager whose family attacked and then kicked him out of their home after he came out, and for the group’s inclusion in a story in Rolling Stone magazine.

The editorial staff of the GA Voice will be at the game and will be taking pictures as well so come on out!
