Atlanta woman killed by girlfriend

An Atlanta woman was killed by her domestic partner Monday, according to information from the Atlanta Police Department.

Laura Bozeman, 22, was charged in the killing of her girlfriend on Monday, Jan. 26, at their Auburn Glenn apartment on Boulevard Avenue. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution identified the victim as Ashley Belle, 22. According the APD, the two women had been fighting  for the past couple days.

Ashley Belle’s Facebook page has become a memorial to her as friends express shock and disbelief. Laura Bozeman went by Cali Bozeman on Facebook.

APD spokesperson Kim Jones emailed a statement of the incident to the GA Voice:

On Monday, January 26, 2015 at approximately [3:30 p.m.] the Zone 6 Units requested the Homicide Unit at 49 Boulevard SE in connection with a person shot and deceased at that location. The preliminary on scene investigation revealed that the victim and perpetrator are domestic partners and that they had been in verbal and physical altercations for the past two days. The crime scene was consistent with a physical altercation having occurred there. The crime scene was processed and evidence collected. The victim was removed from the scene by the FCMEO. Laura Bozeman … was interviewed … and she provided incriminating statements as to her involvement in the shooting death of the victim. Laura Bozeman was charged in connection with this murder and taken to the Fulton County Jail.
