Brushstrokes expands into King and I Thai restaurant space

With the newly added 500 square feet, the two stores — Brushstrokes and Brushstrokes Pleasures — will have a total of 7,000 square feet.

The King and I was one of Atlanta’s oldest Thai restaurants. It changed ownership early last year.

Brushstrokes says it is the third-largest gay-owned and -operated retail business in the U.S.

UPDATE: The King and I Thai is not closing. According to a statement, the way that strip mall is constructed is in units, and King and I currently has two units. The restaurant is vacating most of all of one unit and that is where Brushstrokes Pleasures will expand. The restaurant will continue in its original space.
