“My mother’s determination to continue to live life, and express it in art, shows that no matter what obstacle you have to endure, you simply keep moving forward,” Carter wrote then.

“No one wants to see their parents grow old. It’s as if their grey, wrinkles, and slow pace are constant reminders that the safety of our childhood is really over. I know my mother is afraid of her weakening body, but she still has something familiar to lean on, art.”

Admission to the show is free and will include a chance to mix and mingle with both Carters with some light bites and wine courtesy Slate restaurant.

Raffle tickets will also be sold before and during the show for a chance to win original art work donated by Millie Pete and other artists participating in the show.
