Atlanta photographer Laurie Edward Matthews releases 2011 calendar featuring local male models

Celebrating the ‘BodyBeautiful’

Atlanta photographer Laurie Edward Matthews will showcase and release his 14- month 2011 photo calendar “BodyBeautiful,” at Outwrite Bookstore & Coffeehouse today at 7:30 p.m. A portion of the proceeds of the sale of the calendars will benefit Atlanta Pet Rescue and Jerusalem House.

The calendars feature a collection of male models from Atlanta “showcasing the form and physique of the male body.”

“I am extremely excited and honored to release my first calendar,” Matthews said. “BodyBeautiful was a project that I dedicated over one year of time in order to make sure that it was not a cookie cutter calendar and was something that Atlanta had not seen before.”

BodyBeautiful features a very diverse group of Atlanta male models, including Bryan Trow from A&E’s “Flip This House,” Matthews said.

Twenty-five models were photographed for the project and then narrowed down to 14 by a group of six local residents.

The photographer and models will be available to sign the calendar during the event tonight at Outwrite. Executives from both Jerusalem House and Atlanta Pet Rescue will also be at the release, as well as other special guests, including Nicole Paige Brooks.
