Atlanta Pride parade an expression of diversity and unity

Everybody loves a parade!

An historic 120 grand marshals will lead this year’s Atlanta Pride parade — 40 people from the categories of legislative, education and community — to mark 40 years of the event. Read the list of grand marshals here.

The parade caps off a weekend of festivities of all things queer. Step off is at 1 p.m. from the MARTA Civic Center station and the parade merges off of Ralph McGill onto Peachtree Street and travels north.  It then turns east on to 10th Street and follows 10th Street to the Charles Allen Entrance of Piedmont Park, where the Parade officially ends.

Who is participating this year in the parade? Here’s a list from the Atlanta Pride Committee.

WXIA 11Alive will be streaming the parade live on its website. If you can’t make it to the parade, check out 11alive.com.
