First Salon LGBTQ online media conference comes to Atlanta this weekend

The welcome reception is from 6 – 7:30 p.m. and people are asked to wear purple as part of GLAAD’s Spirit Day to protest bullying.

Panel discussions and keynote speakers highlight the conference throughout the weekend as well.

From the website about what the conference entails:

Our Vision: Gather LGBTQ digital creatives at a thoughtfully designed and absolutely fabulous conference in celebration of their power, potential and brilliance.

Attending Salon LGBTQ is an opportunity to build community, connections and online audience influence while learning from industry successes. Come to meet family and allies, discuss creative and powerful new directions, scheme projects/improvements/campaigns/that gay agenda of world domination; in all, catalyze partnerships and ideas that will support, fund and grow your work, online identity and community reach.

Salon LGBTQ is a celebration of the power of LGBTQ publishers. Bloggers + Producers + PR Pros + Designers + Advocates + Entrepreneurs + Trendsetters + Activists + Storytellers + Connectors + Entertainers + Digital Artists + Brand Marketers + Business Builders

Numerous speakers will be on hand over the weekend, including Senior Vice President and Director of Social Media Renée Brown for Wells Fargo; Michael Crawford, digital director at Freedom to Marry; and Gabe Briones, social media specialist for Southwest Airlines.

Also on hand will be Brent Almond, blogger at DesignerDaddy.com; Alex Vega and Marie Lyn Bernard, co-founders of the popular lesbian website Autostraddle.com.
