UPDATED: Piedmont & Monroe intersection reopened after gas line break The GA Voice Editors October 8, 2010 Atlanta The intersection was closed off by four Atlanta Fire Department fire engines, two fire trucks and two battalions from 10:48 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., said fire department spokesperson Capt. J.L. Bunrige. Tami Gerke of Atlanta Gas Light said that a four inch gas line was cut by a contractor working in the area. The gas has been turned off and continues to be off at this time, she said.
