Several Georgia-based gay rights organizations announced a community gathering to celebrate President Barack Obama signing the Don't Ask, Don't Tell Repeal Act of 2010 into law. The gathering will take place at Manuel's Tavern from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. this Wednesday (Dec. 22). The White House Press Secretary, Robert Gibbs, said earlier today that the president would sign the bill Wednesday morning.

Georgia Equality is also asking people to call their U.S. House of Representatives who voted in favor of repealing DADT: U.S. Reps. John Barrow, Sanford Bishop, Hank Johnson, John Lewis and David Scott.

The event is being hosted by Georgia Equality, Human Rights Campaign, Servicemembers Legal Defense Network, American Veterans for Equal Rights, Transgender American Veteran Association, Georgia Log Cabin Republicans, and Georgia Stonewall Democrats.
