Girl Scout critic advocates cookie boycott over trans acceptance

In a video released by the group earlier this month, a young Scout coldly reads a pre-written statement claiming the organization uses proceeds from the sale of the cookies to “[promote] the desires of a small handful of people” and highlights several cases of transgender children joining the Girl Scouts.

The group is advocating that the Girl Scouts “eliminate sexual education” and to break ties with the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts, the international body that offers guidance to chapters in more than 145 countries over its partnership with International Planned Parenthood. The group’s creation came after a controversial decision to allow a 7-year old transgender girl, who was identified as male at birth but now lives as a female, to join a Colorado chapter last year.
