Lesbian musician Kaki King comes home

Guitar goddess rocks the Variety

Atlanta-born musician Kaki King plays at the Variety Playhouse tonight, bringing her signature sounds to one of the best music venues in the city as part of the tour for her new album, “Junior.”

The show is at 8:30 p.m. with special guest An Horse. Tickets are $17.50. The Variety is located at 1099 Euclid Ave., Atlanta, GA 30307.

King, a lesbian, is known for her superior guitar skills. In 2006, she was named a “Guitar God” by Rolling Stone, the first woman to earn the title in the magazine’s history.

She’s performed with such artists as the Canadian lesbian twin sister duo Tegan and Sara and the Foo Fighters and contributed to the soundtrack for the movie “Into the Wild” directed by Sean Penn.
