Marietta gay bar LeBUZZ closing down due to financial difficulties

Johnathon Murphy, owner of Marietta gay bar LeBUZZ, announced on Facebook on Tuesday that the establishment is closing down due to financial difficulties. The bar’s final day before the lights go out will be Dec. 31.

LeBUZZ, which the GA Voice recently profiled, was host to North Georgia Marietta Pride for the fifth annual event this September. Murphy claimed at the time that anti-gay discrimination by Marietta residents was one of the causes of confusion and setbacks at this year’s event.

A message was left with Murphy to comment on the closing. Share your memories from LeBUZZ’s 18 years in the comments.
