2015 AGLCC Community Awards Dinner [PHOTOS]

The Fox Theater was home to the best and brightest in Atlanta's LGBT business community last week during the annual Atlanta Gay and Lesbian Community Awards Dinner. Hundreds of LGBT business leaders and allies participated in a silent auction benefiting the AGLCC prior to a three-course dinner and dancing in the beautiful Egyptian Ballroom.

The awards portion of the evening was hosted by transgender actor and diversity speaker Scott Turner Schofield. Schofield made history as the first transgender man in a recurring role on daytime's The Bold and The Beautiful.

Awards were given out in several categories including: corporate ally, small business of the year, rising star, and business woman and man of the year, to name a few.

Kathleen Martinez, Senior VP of Disability Market Segment and Strategy for Wells Fargo was honored with the 2015 AGLCC Vanguard Award. "As an individual with a disbaility, a woman and a Latina, she has defied all the odds," says the AGLCC. "And she has done so living authentically and wholly as an out lesbian."

The 2015 AGLCC Icon Award was awarded posthumously to Rosemary Jones, who according to the AGLCC, "was selected because of her three decades of work at IBM as a Senior Program Manager & Small Business Development Strategist where she worked to advance global initiatives that supported women and minority business development." Jones, who joined Turner Broadcasting in 2002 passed away on August 19th.

The AGLCC exists to promote the economic growth and advancement of  LGBT and allied business members, non-profit organizational members as well as corporate partners and their employees, through advocacy, leadership, education and support.
