Backers of the ban stepped in to defend the law in court, but the the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, which is considering an appeal of Walker’s ruling, asked the state’s supreme court to determine whether the backers had legal standing to defend the law in the absence of government representation.

The arguments before the court are scheduled to be televised, according to multiple reports.
