Spin to End 2011 takes place today at the WoodPec Cycling Studio on the Emory University Campus as riders put their best feet and legs and arms forward to raise funds for AIDS vaccine research.
The indoor cycling event is from noon to 6 p.m. and benefits the volunteer organization Action Cycling Atlanta (ACA), the producers of the AIDS Vaccine 200. How it works: each rider spins for an hour and raises at least $100. Riders can take pledges and donations can also be made online.
The AIDS Vaccine 200 is a two-day, 200-mile ride to raise money for the Emory Vaccine Center that takes place each May. Entering its ninth year, ACA has raised more than half a million dollars for AIDS vaccine research.
