V-Day Atlanta joins effort to end violence against women

V-Day Atlanta hosts a charity reading tonight at Emory University’s Canon Chapel of “A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant and A Prayer,” writings to stop violence against women and girls. Actors include lesbian radio personality Melissa Carter and gay playwright Topher Payne.

Edited by Eve Ensler and Mollie Doyle, “A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant and A Prayer” includes writings by such authors as Dave Eggers on Sudanese abduction, Edward Albee on S&M, Michael Cunningham on self-mutilation, Carol Gilligan on a daughter witnessing her mother being hit, Patricia Bosworth on her own physically abusive relationship and Jane Fonda on “reclaiming our Mojo.”
