It’s the New Year and what better way to start 2011 than to witness some fabulous drag artists whip their wigs out and claw to the top to be the best of the best in some friendly competition.
“Dragnique,” a new event in search of the next top Atlanta entertainers, takes place tonight at Jungle beginning at 9:30 p.m. The twist? The audience gets to decide who takes home the prize after weeks of competition.
This week’s theme is “Drag On A Dime” — contestants were given $10 and 15 minutes to shop at the Dollar Store and now have to incorporate their purchases into their costumes.
On hand for tonight’s competition are Eve Michaels with weekly head judge Nicole Paige Brooks of “Rupaul’s Drag Race” fame. Phoenix will also be tonight’s special guest entertainer as well as a judge with Bubba D. Licious of Pets Are Loving Support serving as the charity judge. Tips made by contestants will go to P.A.L.S.
