1. Rosie O’Donnell had some choice words to share with House Speaker Paul Ryan for the holiday: “Paul ryan – don’t talk about Jesus after what u just did to our nation – u will go straight to hell u screwed up fake altar boy #JUDASmuch,” she tweeted Christmas morning. Earlier in the week, O’Donnell got into a Twitter skirmish with conservative news commentator Ben Shapiro, who unsuccessfully tried to ban her from the site for foul language.

2. GOP Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore still refuses to concede the race won by democrat Doug Jones on December 12. However, when the known homophobe got wind that Jones’ son is openly gay, Moore posted links on his Facebook page to an Advocate interview with Carson Jones, an out zookeeper who resides in Colorado, as though his sexual orientation were negative.

3. Low-income people in Orange County, Florida, which includes Orlando, will be eligible for free doses of Truvada, an HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) medication, by the end of 2018 through the Orange County Health Department. Truvada has been shown to be 92 percent effective in stopping the spread of HIV in conjunction with condom use. Florida has the third-highest rate of new HIV infections in the country.

4. Vanity Fair uncovers more far-reaching consequences of disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein’s sexual abuse scandal. Weinstein was a major donor to American Foundation for AIDS Research, and prosecutors are now investigating whether he bullied AmFAR leadership into aiding and abetting a scheme to funnel some of a $2 million donation back to himself through the charity.
