1. Out director Bryan Singer, who earlier this week was fired from the Freddie Mercury biopic “Bohemian Rhapsody,” is being sued in a Washington civil court by Cesar Sanchez-Guzman, who alleges that Singer raped him in 2003 when Sanchez-Guzman was a 17-year-old and threatened him if he told authorities. In a statement Singer’s reps shared with Variety, they said the director “categorically denies these allegations and will vehemently defend this lawsuit to the very end … Once Bryan prevails, he will pursue his own claims for malicious prosecution.”

2. Three black LGBT people detail the struggles they’ve encountered seeking psychiatric treatment amid stigma from the African-American community, a lack of understanding from queer white people and a dearth of mental-health professionals of color.

3. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau discusses his two years in office following nearly 10 years of Conservatism in Canada, campaigning for women and LGBT equality, and Montreal’s inaugural Canadian Pride celebration in an exclusive interview in the January issue of Attitude, a UK gay lifestyle publication.

4. The 2018 Moogfest Music Festival in North Carolina has announced its performance lineup, and festival organizers are highlighting female, transgender and nonbinary musicians for this edition. The event, which runs May 17-20 in Durham, will feature DJs Honey Dijon and Ellen Allien; British pop producer-musician Sophie; Fatima Al Qadiri; LCD Soundsystem’s Gavin Rayna Russom; and Japanese percussionist and composer Midori Takada, among others. A keynote conversation with Chelsea Manning will close the festival. More artists will be announced in January.
