1. Shades of Philadelphia. Three men chased after and shot someone in Brooklyn while yelling gay slurs Saturday night. They have been charged with a hate crime, assault and menacing. The victim was treated and released from the hospital. The NY Daily News story says the victim was a man dressed as a woman, but it’s unclear as to how the victim identifies.

2. “He told me multiple times that I’m going to go to hell and he’s going to bring me with him. He recited a biblical passage — I think it’s a Deuteronomy passage.” And a man yelled gay slurs and shot two patrons with a BB gun at a gay bar in Minneapolis last Thursday. In a cruel twist of fate, the couple were visiting town and one was from Philadelphia and the other from Brooklyn—the sites of the other two most recent high profile hate crimes.

3. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) won the presidential straw poll at this weekend’s Values Voter Summit, the annual conference hosted by anti-LGBT hate group the Family Research Council.
