Queer-friendly bands take over The Earl tonight

Atlanta’s Sexual Side Effects play with Girl in a Coma

Girl in a Coma, with two of three bandmates identifying as lesbians, bring their hotter than heck sounds from Texas to Atlanta for a show tonight featuring Atlanta’s own Sexual Side Effects, fronted by trans woman Amber Taylor  who just recently was voted Best Local Musician in The GA Voice’s Best of Atlanta.

Girl in a Coma, who as Mexican-Americans aren’t afraid to take on immigration issues is signed with Joan Jett’s Blackheart Records and play with the same ferocious punk style their mentor does as well. The Sexual Side Effects recently toured Texas where Taylor’s amp caught on fire and the club they were playing in had to be evacuated. So be prepared for some face melting. Last month, SSE also won the Comcast/Xfinity video award at the Georgia Music Awards.

Tickets are $12 or $10 in advance. The Earl badearl.com is located at 488 Flat Shoals Road SE, Atlanta.
