Atlanta native and nationally acclaimed dancer Juel D. Lane is returning home this weekend as a featured choreographer in Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater’s Ailey II, the second company that supports emerging young dancers and innovative choreographers. Currently on a 32-city world tour that kicked off on Sept. 16, Ailey II performs twice in Atlanta as part of the organization’s Destination Dance initiative to engage the city’s arts and civic organizations. On Friday, October 20, an excerpt of Lane’s “Touch & Agree” will be performed at Woodruff Park at 8 p.m. as part of the ELEVATE festival.
