GA Voice chosen as a founding member of national LGBT media group

GA Voice, along with seven other LGBT newspapers across the country, has been named a founding member of the National Gay Media Association (NGMA). The mission of NGMA is to be the premier vehicle for national advertisers who want to reach the estimated $743 billion LGBT market.

NGMA was organized by Rivendell Media, Inc., which is the leading LGBT media placement company in the US and Canada. Rivendell has helped advertising agencies and media companies reach the gay market for more than 30 years.

According to the 2009 Gay Press Report by Rivendell, and advertising agency Prime Access, gay ad placement increased 13.6 percent in 2009 to a record $349 million while mainstream newspaper revenue plunged 28.6 percent for the same year. Since 1996, LGBT advertising revenue is up 377 percent.

NGMA will focus its efforts on bringing even more national advertising revenue to its founding members which include, along with GA Voice, Gay City News (NYC); Washington Blade; Dallas Voice; Windy City Times (Chicago); Between The Lines (Detroit); Bay Windows (Boston); and Bay Area Reporter (San Francisco).
