APC Announces Family Fun Zone Activities Ahead of Pride

The Atlanta Pride Committee (APC) has announced details for this year’s Family Fun Zone, on Saturday, October 14 from 11am to 6pm and Sunday, October 15, from 2pm to 7pm. Located on the Meadow in Piedmont Park, this year’s activations will be bigger than ever before, from face painting, lawn games, and corn hole to leadership advocacy, library card registration, and a book shop.

“We aim to create a safe space for families, children and young people,” APC Executive Director, Chris McCain, said. “Rather than a place to visit, we hope that families will make this a destination for the weekend, and we encourage them to set up space in the meadow and stay for the duration of the event.”

The LGBTQ Institute’s YOU(th) Belong program partners invite young queer and trans people (14-25 years old) to hang out, relax and find community and empowerment. Visit our soapbox installation and make your voice heard!

  • Paint Love – a community partner and Community Reinvestment Grant recipient – will be painting hand fans

  • Gwinnett Stripers Baseball Team – game, giveaways, coloring sheets
  • Lawn games (Jenga, Connect Four)

  • Bubbles, sidewalk chalk, hula hoops
  • Fulton County Pop-Up Library with library card registration
  • Charis Books pop-up shop
  • Children’s Museum of Atlanta
  • Wellness Zone, presented by Kaiser Permanente: This space is a safe & calming environment for guests who might be feeling overwhelmed or overstimulated. This space offers:
