CHRIS 180 Premiere Party Benefits LGBTQ Youth in Atlanta

CHRIS 180’s annual Premiere Party will be held this Saturday (October 5), with proceeds benefiting homeless LGBTQ youth.

The cocktail party and silent auction will raise money to provide specialized help for LGBTQ youth. Guests can expect a silent disco and fun games by Yvonne Monet, as well as food, drinks, and client testimonials.

The funds raised through ticket sales will enable CHRIS 180, the first organization to openly serve and celebrate LGBTQ youth in Georgia, to provide training and advocacy for LGBTQ youth. Last year’s party garnered more than $40,000 for the organization; this year, they’re aiming for higher.

“In 2018, we raised more than $40,000 to support our programs and services that serve homeless LGBTQ youth, including out Drop-In Center, Safe Housing, Counseling, Training, and LGBTQ adoptions,” Chaundra Luckett, the Director of Marketing and Communications at CHRIS 180, told the Georgia Voice.  “This year, thanks to the support of our generous sponsors, we hope to exceed that number so that we can continue to provide high-quality, affirming support for youth, young adults, and families.”

The event will bring together members of Atlanta’s LGBTQ community and corporate allies, including Presenting Sponsor Delta Air Lines and Advocate Sponsor Georgia-Pacific and will be held October 5 from 7 to 11pm at The Gathering Spot.

Tickets currently on sale. Basic tickets, which include admission and two drink tickets, are $60 pre-sale and $75 at the door. VIP tickets, which include access to an open bar, are $100. You can purchase tickets, as well as make a donation, here.

“Since 1981, CHRIS 180 has been dedicated to healing children, strengthening families, and building communities,” Luckett said. “Our work has always been underscored by our belief in acceptance and equity – that everyone deserves the support needed to change the direction of their lives.”
