The documentary is an ideal fit for Stonewall Week, according to Jim Farmer, executive director of Out on Film, which hosts the city’s LGBT film festival, set for Sept. 29-Oct. 6 this year.
“Stonewall Week is remembered as a time when our community stood up for their own rights and asserted themselves. A lot has changed since Stonewall but a lot hasn’t changed, and the families in this film proudly decide to attend the March on Washington of 2009 as a way to continue to stand up for equality,” Farmer said.
The Stonewall Week screening is sponsored by Out on Film and the Atlanta Pride Committee. Tickets are $15 and include cocktails and brunch from Radial Café.
