Don your gay apparel, and a wig, for “Wig Out,” a fundraiser for the popular queer arts and music fest MondoHomo. The party takes place today from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Atlanta Eagle, 306 Ponce De Leon Ave. NE, Atlanta, GA 30308.
Cost to get in is $7 with a wig and $15 without. DJs Vicki Powell and Jay McCracken will be spinning the beats to make your hair, er, wig, bounce. The host for the all-day affair is Ruby Redd.
Slated to perform as well are: Amber Taylor, Sexual Side Effects, Le Sex O Flex, Tom Tom, the Return, Barry Brandon, Nomi Moore, Devin Liquor, The Ghost of Judy Garland, Polly Sorbate, Dax. Chico, Patricia Lopez, The F’n Heartbreaks and, from New York, Integra.
MondoHomo, founded in 2007 by activist Kiki Carr, was recently cited by the national LGBT magazine the Advocate as one of the reasons Atlanta is the “gayest city” in the nation. It will take place May 27-31 at Eyedrum.
