Jeffrey Kalinsky’s annual gala benefits  AIDS, breast cancer support

Hit the runway with Jeffrey Fashion Cares

The 18th annual event features a reception, fashion show,  live auction and silent auction. Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler are this year’s guest designers, and the fashion show also features Kalinsky’s Kalinsky’s selections from designers including Gucci, Prada, Marni, Manolo Blahnik, Balenciaga, Christian Louboutin, Bottega Veneta, and Jason Wu. The honorary chair is Sara Blakely, founder and owner of Spanx.

Retailer Jeffrey Kalinsky, a former Atlanta resident, founded Jeffrey Fashion Cares as a way to give back to his community. In its history, the event has raised $9 million for AIDS and breast cancer causes. This year’s event benefits the Atlanta AIDS Partnership and the Atlanta affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. The Elton John AIDS Foundation has announced a $75,000 matching grant for this year’s benefit.

Individual fashion show tickets cost $500. Tickets for the after-party only cost $150.

Jeffrey Fashion Cares begins at 7 p.m. on the 35th floor of 12 & Midtown, located at the corner of Peachtree and 12th Streets.

The after-party takes place at 9 p.m. at Opera, 1150 Crescent Ave., Atlanta, GA 30309. The circus-themed party features Fred Schneider of the B-52s and  Vicki Powell as DJs, as well as gloATL dancers, fire dancers and aerialists.
