Rapper Da Brat and Fiance Jesseca Dupart to be Honored at Pure Heat Festival

This year’s Pure Heat Community Festival, a free “day of unity” celebrating Black Gay Pride weekend, will honor veteran hip-hop artist and two-time GRAMMY Award-nominee, Da Brat, and her fiancé Jesseca “Judy” Dupart, the CEO of Kaleidoscope Hair Products.

“I’m super excited about being honored by the… Pure Heat Community Festival, especially alongside my baby,” said Dupart in a press release. “It’s like the perfect embrace to my rcent full relocation here. [I] can’t wait to celebrate this with everyone. Thanks for sprinkling a dose of glitter on my life Atlanta.”

Additional honorees of the festival, which comes to Piedmont Park on September 5 at noon, include Lemuel Plummer, the founder of the Zeus Network; Malik Brown, the City of Atlanta’s LGBTQ Affairs Coordinator; and legendary performer Raquell Lord. Past honorees include the likes of Stacey Abrams and Angelica Ross.

Pure Heat – hosted by Bishop Oliver Clyde Allen III, Rashad Burgess, Melissa “DJ M” Scott, and Julius “JuJu” James – is a free cultural event celebrating the spirit of community, pride, and vision with a market, food vendors, live celebrity and local performers, entertainment, educational forums, prizes, and giveaways.

“The Pure Heat Community Festival is honored that the City of Atlanta welcomes us back for a ninth year,” said Bishop OC Allen III. “It is our goal to create a safe, fun, family[-friendly] environment for all.”
