The gay Atlanta Bucks rugby team will hold a Rugby 101 practice session today for people interested in learning about the sport and who want to join the team.
The team is looking to revamp this season as it works to “provide quality rugby to underserved groups in Atlanta.”
The session is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Sammye Coan Middle School.
The Atlanta Bucks say on Facebook that the team will be involved with a project with Ben Cohen, a studly English rugby player who is a gay icon.
According to Cohen’s website:
“This summer I am heading The Ben Cohen Acceptance Tour to the USA. We are working with Gay/Gay Friendly rugby clubs holding events and dinners and spreading a message of Acceptance and Mutual Respect for everyone and also raising money for my soon to be formed foundation which will be supporting existing charities and organisations working within the LGBT community.”
