Richie Arpino, a gay Atlanta hairstylist who has worked on such celebrities as Brooke Shields, Julia Roberts and Melissa Etheridge, is also known for his photography of beautiful people — including plenty of sexy men.
Today at 5 p.m. he presents his sixth annual fundraising calendar “North vs South” at Outwrite Bookstore & Coffeehouse. Arpino and several of the male models will be on hand today to sign the calendars with all proceeds from the sales of the calendars are donated to breast cancer and AIDS research. Outwrite is located at 991 Piedmont Ave.
“I photographed six guys from New York and six guys from Atlanta,” Arpino says, explaining the title of the calendar.
“Photography is my hobby which allows me the privilege of giving back to the community that has supported me for so many years … I love Atlanta!” he says.
“It is a pleasure to highlight our boys and men in such an artistic ,and respectful way in my calendar. These guys have been awesome in coming to all the calendar parties and donating their time as well for the charities i choose to give proceeds from the to calendar to – I can’t do it without their support!”
