The Positive Women’s Network has launched a petition demanding Atlanta Mayor Keisha Bottoms to funnel funds to help those living with HIV.
According to the petition, the City of Atlanta has failed to reimburse payments to nonprofits providing housing to people living with HIV. Hundreds of people living with HIV who currently receive housing assistance through these nonprofits may be facing homeless because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The petition urges Mayor Bottoms to use her authority and power to ensure funding owed to these agencies working to make sure HIV-positive people are stably housed.
