New Jane Lawless tale a worthy addition to lesbian mystery series

Author Ellen Hart

Your accountant is so proud of you.

Like the good saver you are, you’ve tried to invest a little money here or there. A few acres of land, maybe. A good education for you or the kids. Perhaps you’ve even stuck a buck into stocks or bonds for the future.

If Chester “Chess” Garrity had his way, you’d invest in antiquities. He’s got valuable loot on his hands and in the new book “The Cruel Ever After” by Ellen Hart, he needs to get rid of it, pronto.

Comedian, actor, writer and 2012 presidential candidate Roseanne Barr held court at Outwrite Bookstore & Coffeehouse Wednesday night as she read from her newest book, “Roseannearchy: Dispatches from the Nut Farm,” and answered questions from some of her more passionate fans.

But oh, you wanted them. So imagine denying yourself those and almost all other foods. Imagine living on 300 calories a day, then read “Unbearable Lightness” by Portia de Rossi.
