Or head to FAB. A while back there was a place at Lenox Mall called Brasserie La Coze and every year my now ex partner and I would go there while Christmas shopping. The new incarnation downtown called French American Brasserie has a lofty roof top patio.

Honestly I’ve only had my favorite things here. I start with creamy onion soup served with triple French cream butter and rolls – why not? I’ll walk it off later. Then I have the FAB savory roasted rosemary lamb sandwich on kalamata olive bread: rich, succulent flavorful lamb on buttery crusty bread with the salty pop of kalamata olives and garlicky mayonnaise. Does it get any better in Paris? Perhaps you’ll try the white wine mussels with a glass of French Bordeaux. Your friends will feel very cosmopolitan. What late summer heat?

Up, up and away to AltoRex Rooftop Lounge on West Peachtree Street. This is such a fun place to go while the nights are still warm. Sometimes it feels like it’s 20 degrees cooler up here. This is mainly a place to grab a drink and some tapas. It is very chic so you’ll want to dress nice. Our female server said she loves her LGBT clientele.

The cool Atlanta breezes were so refreshing while we enjoyed our shrimp po boy sliders, crab fondue, and grit fritters topped with pimento cheese. You and your friends will feel fierce while watching the sun set.

There are three other rooftop patios to visit when the sun goes down near Cabbagetown on Memorial Drive. The newest and the one with the most buzz is Republic Social House. I had a good eggplant parmesan melt. Their patio has a great view of the Atlanta skyline at night.  Six Feet Under and the Tin Lizzy are in the same row. Mixed scenes, cheap prices, and Tin Lizzy mainly has a cute rowdy young crowd.

I’ve written about Taqueria Del Sol before. The Westside location has a great patio with a beautiful view of the Westside of Atlanta. They are now featuring their special menu of hatch chiles which are the most flavorful aromatic chiles. The special when I went was green chile cheeseburger tacos – ground beef, melted cheese, hatch chiles, and scratch-made flour tortillas that add up to pure Mexican comfort food.
