One of the oldest feminist bookstores in the country, an Atlanta icon celebrates 36 years with a sale and author visits today

Happy Birthday, Charis!

Everything at the Little Five Points store will be 10 percent off, with some books for sale as inexpensive as just $1.

Here is the schedule for author visits and book signings:

12-1 p.m.: Alexander T. Devereux, author of “Gar Fish and Long Gravy: A Memoir of a Southern Sensibility”
1-2 p.m.:  Susan Rebecca White, author of “Bound South” and “A Soft Place to Land”
1-2 p.m.:  Quiera Smit, author of “When the Walls Come Tumbling Down You Learn to Dust Around the Pain” with her daugther, Quiera K-C Smith
2-3 p.m.: Lesbian fiction writers Jane Vollbrect (author of “Detours,” “Second Verse” and many more) and Chris Paynter (author of “Come Back to Me” and “Playing for First”)
3-4 p.m.:  Lynn Kear, author of “Murder in a Buckhead Garden”
4-5 p.m.: R.J. Rahman, author of “Black Hair in the 21st Century”
