LGBTQ and Allied Celebs Perform in Lady Gaga’s ‘One World: Together at Home’ Concert Special

Yesterday, Lady Gaga and Global Citizen put on a livestreamed concert special featuring performances from a number of queer artists.

The special, One World: Together at Home, was an eight-hour event featuring stories from the front lines of fighting COVID-19, PSAs from big-name celebrities, and performances by iconic musicians. It aired on almost every major US network, including ABC, NBC, and CBS and was co-hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, and Stephen Colbert.

The huge event featured performances from a number of LGBTQ and allied celebrities, including Lizzo, Taylor Swift, Adam Lambert, Christine and the Queens, Elton John, Sam Smith, Celine Dion, and Lady Gaga herself.

Interspersed throughout the performances, stars like Ellen DeGeneres, Beyoncé, and Oprah also shared PSAs regarding the pandemic.

While Gaga, the event organizer, was clear from the start that the event was not primarily meant to be a fundraiser—it was meant to “celebrate the power of the human spirit”—Global Citizen announced that more than $127 million had been raised in commitments to support health care workers fighting against COVID-19.
