Openly Gay Jazz Musician Dave Koz Kicks Off Christmas Tour in Atlanta on November 29

This Black Friday, Dave Koz & Friends will kick off the 27th anniversary edition of the longest-running jazz-based Christmas tour at Atlanta’s Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre. This year’s run, which will visit 18 cities in less than a month, reunites Koz, who is openly gay, with long-time musical partner, guitarist/singer Jonathan Butler, and features saxophonist Vincent Ingala, guitarist Adam Hawley and vocalist Rebecca Jade as special guests.

Dave Koz & Friends will perform timeless Christmas classics, a Chanukah medley, and hits from each artist’s respective catalogue – including Koz and Hawley’s new single, “Automatic,” which has quickly climbed into the top 10 of Billboard’s Smooth Jazz Airplay chart.

You’ll also be able to see Koz perform as a special guest in Great Performances: Henry Mancini 100 at the Hollywood Bowl, which premieres November 29 at 9pm on PBS and the PBS AppBillboard hailed his renditions of tracks by the renowned composer, including the iconic “Pink Panther” as among the highlights of the concert, which took place at the Hollywood Bowl in June 2024 and also featured Cynthia Erivo and Michael Bublé.

Dave has released eight holiday albums, including his most recent, Christmas Ballads 25th Anniversary Collection, which features focus track “Greensleeves.” His newest recording project is a collaboration with the legendary Bob James, which will be released in 2025.

Koz has racked up an astoundingly impressive array of honors and achievements: nine GRAMMY® nominations, 12 No. 1 albums on Billboard’s Current Contemporary Jazz Albums chart, numerous world tours, a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, performances for multiple U.S. presidents and, most recently, a 2023 Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award from President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. He also received the 2023 Starlight Children’s Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award. Koz, who has served as global ambassador for the Foundation for 30 years, has raised over two million dollars to date for the foundation through the Dave Koz & Friends At Sea silent auctions and his network of fans.
