Voices of Note Kicks Off New Season with ‘We Need Some Light’

Voices of Note will be kicking off their 2020-2021 season with We Need Some Light, a kick-off fundraising cabaret.

Voices of Note, which includes both the Atlanta Gay Men’s Chorus and the Atlanta Women’s Chorus, will stream the virtual concert on Thursday, September 10 at 8pm on both choruses’ Facebook pages and YouTube channels.

The event is part of the organization’s Keep the Light Shining fundraising campaign, which will run from September 1 to October 31 with the goal of raising a total of $30,000. The group promises an “original show that will highlight talent from both the AGMC and AWC, bolstering your spirit with songs to fill your heart with joy.”

“This is the second time our Voices of Note choruses have come together virtually to provide our audiences with a view of our talented members,” said Eve Campbell, the executive director of Voices of Note. “The last event was such a success we felt like we needed to repeat the experience. Most of the time our audiences don’t realize the raw talent within our groups. This is a chance to let our members shine. It’s very exciting!”

Voices of Note was one of several Atlanta arts organizations, along with Out on Film and Atlanta Freedom Bands, to recently receive lifesaving grants after being affected by COVID-19. The organization received a $40,000 grant from the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta.
