The intersection was closed off by four Atlanta Fire Department fire engines, two fire trucks and two battalions from 10:48 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., said fire department spokesperson Capt. J.L. Bunrige.
Tami Gerke of Atlanta Gas Light said that a four inch gas line was cut by a contractor working in the area. The gas has been turned off and continues to be off at this time, she said.
