F.R.O.G.S. Cantina was the victim of burglary this morning, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Gathering tonight at FROGS Cantina to help Midtown restaurant after burglary

The restaurant, a gay-favorite located in the Midtown Promenade Shopping Center, is one of two businesses hit last night in the area.

The targets of the burglary, according to the article, were the restaurant’s flat-screen televisions. Jersey Mike’s Subs was also burglarized.

A Facebook event titled  “Support F.R.O.G.S. after smash-and-grab burglary” calls for the community to gather at the restaurant at 6:30 p.m. tonight in an effort to show support.

F.R.O.G.S. Cantina has hosted many LGBT events, as Project Q Atlanta noted in a post this afternoon:

F.R.O.G.S. sponsors the gay Atlanta Bucks Rugby Football Club, hosts the weekly My Big Fat Gay Bingo and plays home to scores of LGBT fundraisers for the Hotlanta Softball League, CHRIS Kids, Hotlanta Soccer Association, Atlanta Gay Sports Alliance and other groups. (In fact, Hotlanta Soccer hosts a beer bust fundraiser there on Saturday.)

The spot also hosted Ides of Pride in October and a memorial service for Phillip Rush in May 2009.
