Women take the stages of Atlanta to rock out tonight

Florida-based acoustic duo Halcyon returns to Atlanta for a special show at lesbian bar My Sisters’ Room in East Atlanta. Made up of Deb Hunseder and Steph Callahan, Halcyon has been touring and recording since 1989. The duo has played Pride festivals across the US, including in Atlanta, Chicago and Seattle. The duo has also performed the national anthem acapella at an Atlanta Braves game. The duo has recorded seven CDs and opened for such artists as John Mayer, Joan Osborne, India.Arie, Wynona Judd and Melissa Ferrick.

The opening act is the Maria Gabriella Band.

At lesbian bar Bellissima, Atlanta-based Glitterbiscuits and Opposite Life perform starting at 8 p.m.

Glitterbiscuits is an acoustic folk and pop duo and made up of kato Estill and Renee Freshwater.

A DJ will be spinning dance music after the concert.

Described as “Rachel Maddow and Jon Stewart with guitars,” the duo emma’s revolution comes to the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Atlanta for a concert tonight.

Activist musicians Pat Humphries and Sandy O. make up the duo. Their songs have been recorded by Holly Near they believe in using the “power of music to promote peace and justice, LGBT, human rights, labor, women and environmental issues.”
