AIDS prevention study seeks gay Hispanic men

User Insight is partnering with the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) for a study on a new AIDS prevention website currently in development. The study is taking place on Tuesday, Oct. 12, at User Insight’s Sandy Springs offices and should take a little more than an hour to complete.

Gay Hispanic men who complete the survey will be given $80 for their time.

AID Atlanta hosts Happy Hour tonight at FROGS

AID Atlanta’s Gay Men’s Outreach Coordinator Steven Igarashi will host a Happy Hour tonight at F.R.O.G.S. Cantina in Midtown for those interested in learning about AID Atlanta’s programs and tips on how to have safer sex. First time participants may qualify for a free "adult" beverage.

The meet-up is today between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. and is open to the public, although focused on Caucasian gay and bisexual men.

Ga. health department teams up with Melissa Carter for HIV town hall

Q100's Melissa Carter joins HIV panel

The Georgia Department of Community Health’s HIV Unit will host a town hall meeting on Friday, Sept. 24, to discuss ways to combat rising HIV / AIDS rates among gay and bisexual men.

There will be a panel discussion featuring out Q100 DJ Melissa Carter along with members of the DCH HIV Unit.

Each fall welcomes a rush of activity, as the city of Atlanta switches gears and prepares for the return to school.  Shopping malls are a hustle and bustle of parent’s and student’s trying to find that perfect first day outfit which will identify them as the right balance of scholarly and cool.  Electronics fly off the shelves as families stock up on the latest and greatest in available calculators, computers and other gadgetry that are needed for today’s student.  Doctor’s office waiting rooms are overflowing as students prepare for immunizations, sports physicals and routine checkups.

There is an excitement and tension that overtakes the city as we all prepare for the educational lessons that await us each fall.

AID Atlanta hosts happy hour on Monday

Local HIV / AIDS organization AID Atlanta is hosting a happy hour today from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Woofs for gay and bisexual men new to the organization.

AID Atlanta is looking for participants to discuss the program, fill out a little bit of information and enjoy a few drinks while finding new ways to discuss safer sex.
