[Updated] Missing Ga. lesbian found deceased in McDonough

Lawson was last seen Nov. 19 in Clayton County.

Speaking with GA Voice today, Alexander said she was grateful for the LGBT community’s help in finding her girlfriend.

“I am tremendously grateful for the community in the way they came together to help find Lisa. No matter what, we support one another,” Alexander said. “We’re planning to have a vigil next week. I want to celebrate her life and that’s what we’re going to do.”

Alexander said she would be meeting with Lawson’s family this evening.

The Clayton County Police Department issued a press release this afternoon with additional details. It stated that a search was conducted by Clayton detectives on Tuesday, Dec. 4, in the area Lawson was last seen. The search was expanded to include the city of McDonough, where Lawson was found deceased inside her vehicle around 11 p.m.

The city of McDonough is currently investigating the cause of death, the press release said.

No other information was included. Further information will be added to this article as it is received.

Alexander and Lawson had been together for around five months, Alexander told GA Voice yesterday by phone.

Lawson’s disappearance prompted Alexander to create a media campaign to help find her girlfriend. The website, www.findlisalawson.com, and an accompanying video on YouTube helped spread the story of Lawson’s disappearance.

Alexander appears in “The Other Women of America,” a lesbian reality show under development in Atlanta.
