National HIV Testing Day wants you to ‘take the test, take control’

Nearly 1.1 million people in the U.S. are living with HIV and one in five doesn’t know it. Georgia is ranked fourth in the nation for new HIV infections and rates of infections continue to increase among gay and bisexual men. The numbers are staggering and one way to help stave off the spread of new infections is for people to get tested.

June 27 is National HIV Testing Day and numerous organizations throughout metro Atlanta are offering free and quick testing. AID Atlanta is even entering those who get tested at one of their spots into a drawing to win two tickets to the Jay Z and Beyoncé concert on July 15 at the Georgia Dome.
