The video has been viewed more than 138,000 times. It was uploaded with the description, “Thats some b*tch sh*t.”
The Atlanta Police Department learned about the incident from the internet and is looking into it, spokesperson Carlos Campos told the GA Voice.
“We were just tipped off to the video less than an hour ago by the Smoking Gun,” Campos said. “We’re working with the appropriate units/zones to learn more about it. I hope to have some information later today.”
Comments on the video on the hip hop site were mixed. Many were variations on “LMFAO,” and plenty were anti-gay.
“Any gay peeps got a problem with dis. You can get your azz beat too,” user InternetThugKeyboardGoon wrote.
“Word we need to teach these homos a lesson,” user Edwidge Romain agreed.
Others were less supportive of the beating, but still homophobic.
“That’s soo fucked up. He was minding his own business not bothering y’all. I could see if he was trying to get with them,” user Christina Valentine wrote.
“No matter if the dude is gay he still should not get beat down.. he still gone be gay…. Im dont condone being gay im just sayin…. Real Men dont worry bout the next cat like dat anyway. man or woman being gay is wrong because thats not how the real circle of life works. But to bang someone out because of it makes no sense to me,” wrote Shadow.
Other viewers condemned the actions and took on anti-gay commenters.
“Animals! They should be exterminated like feral dogs. This is what a welfare state turns us into, and hiphop creates generations of thugs,” wrote user Joseph Allen. “Too bad there are not any real black role models anymore; we are told that the only way a black man can succeed is by crime or hiphop or sports. Our slave forefathers are rolling in their unmarked graves.”
User Vaeloria Firespeaker called the actions “disgusting and depraved.”
“The idea that humanity has come to this and/or that anyone supports this kind of action is appalling. These people will get what is coming to them, and so will everyone else,” she wrote.
Stay tuned for future updates.
