Atlanta Police appoints new LGBT liaison

The Atlanta Police Department announced today the appointment of Officer Eric King as a new LGBT liaison.

Officer King joins Senior Patrol Officer Brian Sharp, the other LGBT liaison for the APD.

“I am honored to serve as an LGBT liaison for the Atlanta Police Department and I want to strengthen relationships and improve the communication between the Department and the LBGT community,” King said in a prepared statement.

King started working for the APD five years ago and most recently was a bicycle officer in Zone 4 in the West End and Greenbriar Mall areas, according to a press release from the APD.

King replaces Sgt. Kristin Knight who recently received a promotion. He can be reached at elking@atlantaga.gov or at 404-546-5428
