Gay former mayoral candidate cancels rally on Atlanta crime due to snow

The candlelight vigil and rally set for Wednesday and organized by gay former Atlanta mayoral candidate Kyle Keyser has been canceled due to inclement weather.

“Tomorrow’s vigil and rally is being canceled due to concerns regarding the weather. Please stay tuned as it will be rescheduled! Thank you!” Keyser wrote on the Facebook page for Atlantans Together Against Crime & Cutbacks.

The vigil was aimed at reminding city and community leaders of the impact of crime in 2010.
“It is my opinion that Mayor Reed has done a good job in his first year addressing our public safety infrastructure and the police department,” said Keyser, who ran a grassroots campaign for mayor in 2009, when Reed was elected.

“However, it does not stop there. We will be reminding him that we need bold, visionary leadership in addressing crime at its root – and for all neighborhoods of Atlanta,” Keyser said.
