Gay-friendly Fulton Commission chair candidate seeks signatures to qualify for ballot

‘Sign One and Take One’ for Mary Norwood

Mary Norwood, who lost a close race to be Atlanta’s mayor last year to Kasim Reed, is now running for chair of the Fulton County Commission. Because she is running as an independent, she needs to obtain 22,000 signatures by June 22 to qualify for the ballot.

Tonight she and several gay activists are hosting a “Sign One and Take One” petition drive from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Amsterdam Bar and Café, 502 Amsterdam Ave. NE., Atlanta, GA 30306.

The host committee includes gay activists such as Kevin Kirby, Andy McKinnon, Justin Ziegler and Paul Zucca.
