Agnes Scott Ranked Top 5 Most LGBTQ Friendly Colleges

Decatur college Agnes Scott College was ranked one of the top five most LGBTQ friendly colleges by the Princeton Review.

The private liberal arts women’s college ranked in fifth place among colleges nationwide in the latest edition of the Princeton Review’s “The Best 385 Colleges” within the LGBTQ-friendly category. Schools were ranked based on how positively students answered when asked, “Do students, faculty, and administrators treat all persons equally, regardless of their sexual orientation and gender identity/expression?”

Agnes Scott follows Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania, Mount Holyoke College and Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering in Massachusetts, and Brown University in Rhode Island.

The most LGBTQ-unfriendly colleges, according to the ranking, were College of the Ozarks in Missouri, Wheaton College in Illinois, University of Tennessee-Knoxville, Grove City College in Pennsylvania, and Auburn University in Alabama.

The Princeton Review ranks 385 schools in a variety of categories based on the answers of 140,000 students to an 80-question survey. Students are asked about their school’s academics/administration, life at their college, their fellow students, and themselves. Based on students’ responses, the Princeton Review reports the top 20 schools in 62 different ranking list categories.
